When I think about my mother’s belly, it’s a positive memory. Something I always cuddled with as a child. In this work, I have detached the shape of the belly from its frame. It stands upright in space as an independent form. Something that is vulnerable and everyday now becomes monumental.”

Whenever I wanted to hug my mom as a child, she’d ask: ‘Which belly do you want? One, two, or three?’ So I thought; the more the better!”
